Carmack Christmas Part One

This is Christmas at my grandparents. Every Christmas of my entire life has been spent here. We always did our little family Christmas in the morning and then came here for the rest of the day. I am so thankful that they changed our celebration to the day after Christmas this year because that meant that Nick and I could be there!

My family is HUGE, so this is always a very eventful and extremely fun day!

Here is some of my family...
(You can see that my new hat from Aunt Beth was very popular.)
Aunt Vickie and Uncle Mike brought some snow out from Colorado in their truck. When they first got there on Thursday, they made a six foot snowman. By Saturday when we got there, there was no longer a snowman, but we did still have some snow to play with.

We played several rounds of around the world ping pong.

Uncle Harry and Uncle Bill were a little too intimidated to join in on our game, but they were inspired enough to have their own little game when we were done.  I don't know who ended up winning....I am going to have to find that out.
After ping pong, we played a rousing game of football down at the park.  I was busy playing, so I did not get any pictures of the game.  My mom did, however, take many pictures, so those will be coming in Part Two of the Carmack Christmas.  When the game ended, we came back to the house to exchange gifts.
We all give Grandma and Grandpa gifts, and they give gifts to all of us.  But, for the rest of us, we do a ruthless gift exchange where we can steal each other's presents.
The kids went first.
Aunt Betty opened the present that I brought, which included this beautiful magnet picture of myself (I got a whole sheet of these.....the joys of being a teacher.  They provided me with many great white elephant gifts.)  This picture is not good, but I wanted everyone to see Aunt Betty's overjoyed reaction when she opened the most coveted gift of all.  Isn't it shocking that no one stole this gem of a present? (It did include other things besides the magnet).
This is another family tradition that my mom is very adamant about every year....each family has to take a picture in front of the Christmas tree.
I love my family!  We have so much fun together!

Well, this may very well be my longest post EVER!  That is what happens when you have a family as big as mine....and this is only Part One.  I realize that there are many many people in these pictures, and you probably have no idea who most of them are or how they are related.  And, these pictures show probably only about half of the people who were there.  I am sorry to those members of my family who are not pictured.  Remember that we still have Part Two though.  I was thinking of doing a Meet My Family blog post each Monday.  I would introduce members of my family from both my side and Nick's side of the family.  It would only take me a couple of years to get through everyone :)
What do you think?  Should I do it?

Okay, so I know that Christmas is over for pretty much everyone, but Nick and I still have to do our Christmas tonight, and my family's Christmas on Friday.  So, you are going to be seeing a lot of Christmas on this blog for a little longer.  Sorry.

  1. I had to ask Derek who a couple people were...he wasn't overly helpful.

Yes, you should do a meet the family post. Even if it's just for a few weeks since Caramel Cup is a neglected blog. Yes, Girls, you heard me. You neglect it!! I want to know what's going on in your lives...and I'm clueless.

Oh, and your Christmas card was returned to us...and went out for the second time today. Pitiful, I know.
