Memory #7

Adopting Belle--September, 2009

My parents gave us our little Belle on Christmas in 1995.
This is her:
Seeing this hurts my heart.  She was so stinking cute.
So, our little Belle grew up and turned into a beautiful Beagle.
I only got to live full time with my little Belle for 4 years before I went away to college.  But she was always my little love, and every time I came home, she would stay in my room, and I would let her sleep in my bed with me.  I was the only one in the family that would let her do that.  So, when Nick and I moved into our house, my parents had just moved out of theirs.  They did not have a backyard anymore that Belle could roam in, so she would often spend her days at our house.  After many "discussions", Nick and I agreed that she should come live with us.  So, we adopted her, and she has lived with us ever since.
She provides us with all kinds of entertainment, even in her less active older age.

She still loves to explore.
She hates baths.
Her favorite activity is sleeping.  And, she loves finding new and creative places to sleep any chance she gets.
Like the hammock:
Or the table:
Or the closet:
Or on our bed pillows or laundry:
And one of her favorites that I had to kick her out of all the time while we were painting the house...plastic:
I am so thankful she came to live with us.
And I have turned into one of those annoying people who treats their dog like their child.  I can't help it.  It's not my fault that I don't have kids yet, so she gets to be spoiled until that happens (and probably even after that happens if she is still around...she's going for the world record).
I LOVE HER!
(see some of my favorite posts of Belle here, here, and here or you can just click on "Belle" under labels in the sidebar and it will show you every post about her.)

And, Belle and I have a special message for a special person.
What's on your birthday wish list, Molly?
